Guidelines, policies & faqs

Studio Guidelines

  • Please arrive on time for any workshop or event (no more than 5 minutes before your scheduled time)

  • During class, keep the table free of personal objects such as phones, water bottles and bags so everyone can work comfortably.

  • I will reserve the right to fire certain pieces (or wait longer to fire them) if I suspect they have air bubbles to avoid explosions when firing everyone’s pieces.

  • All glazes and unfinished pieces must remain at the studio/be finished at the studio.

  • Pottery can be messy, cleaning is part of the experience. We’ll start tidying up 10 minutes before the end of every workshop.

  • When picking up your pieces, bring bubble wrap and bags/boxes to protect and transport your pieces.

  • I will do my best to take care of your creations; however, due to the delicate nature of the ceramic process, I cannot guarantee that all pieces will survive.

events Policies

  • If you are unable to attend your event on the scheduled date, please let me know at least two weeks in advance so we can reschedule your class at no extra cost.

  • If you need to cancel with less than 14 days’ notice, unfortunately, I won't be able to reschedule or refund your workshop. In that case, I suggest transferring the event to another group.

  • If any of the participants can’t make it to the event, their spot can’t be refunded.

  • Please keep an eye on my Instagram stories, as that's where I post announcements and finished pieces.

  • I have a small studio and limited space. I will keep your finished pieces for 6 weeks, after which I will donate them if unclaimed.

 FAQs

  • I am located one block from Old Mill Subway Station; the exact address will be shared via email when booking your workshop or event.

  • I provide everything you need in tools and materials. Bring comfy clothes and don’t worry, it won’t get super messy. Also, short nails are strongly recommended!

  • All of your creations must stay at the studio until they're finished. Once they are fired once, I will let you know, and you can come and glaze them. Usually, it takes from 2-4 weeks after the workshop is over to have a final, finished piece.

  • We exclusively use the clay provided at the studio.

  • Pottery materials and processes can be costly, but I am committed to making pottery more accessible to those who want to learn. While some of my courses are priced higher, I always strive to offer options that are both affordable and high-quality. One of the key ways I achieve this is by hosting workshops in my home studio, which allows me to maintain a warm and intimate learning environment while keeping overhead costs lower than traditional pottery studios.

  • A pottery piece needs to be fired in a special oven twice. The first firing is done after the piece is completely dry. After the first firing, the piece can be painted / glazed before undergoing the second firing. The entire process typically takes between 2 and 5 weeks for completion.

  • I make the announcements through my instagram stories. Make sure to follow me and activate my notifications directly from my profile.
